Celebrate Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

'Tis the season for celebrations, and so what fun it is to be a part of the Quilting Gallery's 5th Anniversary Party!  I'm joining the fun, and you can, too. Dozens of Quilting Bloggers around the globe are helping the celebration with Give-Aways and fanfare, all intended to relay a great big "Congratulations!"

Blog
Hop Party with Give-Aways

I'd like to welcome you to Mountain Quiltworks, if you haven't been here before.  I have been smitten with the quilting bug and so enjoy reading about what all the talented quilters are doing. So much creativity, friendliness and compassion, all wrapped into one here in Blogland. Fantastic combination. Take a minute to look around my blog - I'm not a prolific blogger. I just write when the mood strikes, and when I have something quilty to write about.

For the celebration, I am giving away a pair of vintage-style Christmas snack mats and a set of four Christmas coasters that I've made.  You can use them yourself, or tuck in a stocking - Santa won't mind the help!

Entering is easy. Just leave a comment and let me know what was the most unusual Christmas gift you've ever received, or if that's too personal, how about your favorite reindeer that pulls Santa's sleigh.

No need to be a follower, but if you'd like to hop along for the ride, I'd love to have you!

One winner will be chosen at random. The give-away will remain open through Saturday, December 15 at midnight Mountain time, so be sure to enter.  And visit the other bloggers who are taking time to give back to the blogging community. Again, you can find the list over at Quilter's Blog Hop.

  1. Your mats look wonderful! Too many Christmas's have passed to remember which is the most unusual gift so I will go with the reindeer and it is Rudolph because he saved Christmas one year. :) Would like to join the hop one of these years when I have more time. You have a blessed holiday season. :)

  20. At a "yankee swap" we had to bring a nice holiday decor and when I picked a gift and it got stolen there was only 1 left that I could take I opened it and was horrified. It was 2 noise makers that clack from the dollar spot at target. Naturally no one was going to try to swipe that from me. I gave them to my kids.

  45. I forgot to say that Rudolph is my favorite raindeer. I loved him when I was little and I still love him more as I get older. The most embarrassing gift would be when my mother would buy our bras and panties and except us to show them to everyone could see. They are personal and nobody's business what they look like.

  46. Nothing unusual for me comes to mind... My in-laws used to exchange odd gifts, one year my mother-in-law was gifted the biggest pair of pants I've ever laid eyes on. I'm talking Paul Bunyan sized and were beautifully wrapped in a huge box. We all laughed until we cried. I have no idea where my sister-in-law found them.! Thanks for a great giveaway.

  49. Most unusual gift....
That is easy..... I got a £1 from my eldest son... so I assumed that he being a lovely lad had saved his pocket money from being with his Dad for the celebration... it was as he handed it to me that Aonghas' Dad (my Ex husband) told me that Aonghas had found it in the car park!
So there we are... I know my son love's me, that's enough ;-)
Thanks for the giveaway and chance to share a story that no doubt will happen again x

  66. These are so pretty I would love them for myself at Christmas! Bowls. My inlaw for years gave me bowls for Christmas. I don't even cook but every year I would get a new bowl. My husband has always done all the cooking. Now they give me quilting things and life is much better.

  67. First off let me say your christmas snack mats are absolutely gorgeous. My mother in law is the worst gift giver...Every year she would give me gifts fromt he dollar store witthe tags still on so I knee where they came from and every year she would buy nice things that were beautifully giftwrapped for everyone else. I fianlly told her after about the 10th year please to not buy me anything for Christmas as I hated for her to waste her money on me. So for the last 14 years she no longer gives me christmas presents.Yes I have the mother in law that hates me. Thats ok too....I pray for her to one day wake up and have a guilty conscious. lol...And Her son my loveing husband is now responsible for picking out her cards and prsents. Needless to say he puts a lot less thought into his gift choices than I did and she never gets those lovely hand made gifts anymore.
